The Twist That Could Save General Hospital’s Gio Storyline

The secret behind Gio’s birth parents is about to rock Port Charles, but this twist could make things much more interesting on General Hospital.

Brook Lynn’s Baby Daddy

Since the talk of summer camp memories for the Bensonhurst crew, a never-before-told romance between Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) has been all Cody (Josh Kelly) can remember from those days. The pair had a summer fling, which miraculously never got mentioned when Brook Lynn was later hired by Carly (Laura Wright) to break up Dante and Lulu (Alexa Havins).

Now that a secret pregnancy and adoption have been thrown into the mix, it’s easy to assume that Brook Lynn got pregnant with Dante’s baby as a teenager and Lois (Rena Sofer) arranged an adoption. Insert “Cousin” Gio (Giovanni Mazza, who shared his thoughts on his character’s parents). Lois has made it abundantly clear that Gio is Brook Lynn’s son, but the father’s identity is still unknown.

Could It Be?

Sure, all the signs point to Dante being Gio’s father, between his romance with Brook Lynn and Gio’s secret desire to become a cop. But what if Brook Lynn cheated on Dante during summer camp with none other than his best friend, Cody? It would certainly explain why Cody has such a picture-perfect memory of summer camp and track for Brook Lynn’s personality back then. Plus, Gio looks much more like Cody than Dante.

If Cody turns out to be Gio’s father, that would mean the end of a relationship with Emma (Braedyn Bruner) before it even began. Gio would be Mac’s (John J. York) grandson, and Emma is Robert’s (Tristan Rogers) granddaughter, making them second cousins. And while Cody has lost his relationship with Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), it might do him some good to gain a son.
