Ava's secret is out.
Port Charles has finally learned the truth about Sonny’s medication mixup on the August 8, 2024 episode of General Hospital… and Ava is the prime suspect.
After discovering that the pills Donna (Scarlett Spears) swallowed contained no medication, it was clear to everyone that Sonny (Maurice Benard) had unknowingly been taking placebos, explaining his more-reckless-than-usual behavior. With Jason (Steve Burton) back as his right-hand man, Sonny speculated it all had to be Ava’s (Maura West) doing and ordered Jason to pay her a visit at her jail cell.
After Ava overheard Kevin (Jon Lindstrom, who shared a fun photo from GH Fanclub Weekend) take a phone call regarding Sonny’s medication and warned John (Adam Harrington) that everyone was on to the secret, once a stonecold Jason stared her down from the other side of the bars, she finally confessed. She assured him while she knew about the switch, she wasn’t the one behind it, and planned to hold the information hostage, knowing it would keep them from eliminating her.
While Carly (Laura Wright) called Anna (Finola Hughes) over and accused Ava of being behind the placebos, John took matters into his own hands when he barged through the GH pharmacist’s door waving his FBI badge; the same pharmacist who was roped into switching Sonny’s medication.
While Ava could easily blame it all on Valentin (James Patrick Stuart), who worked with Pikeman to make sure Sonny was given a low dose of lithium, it was actually Ava who suggested the medication be entirely switched with placebos. That, on top of a manslaughter charge, would send Ava away for good… but not before Sonny gets ahold of her.
