This Incredible Twist Could Lead To Carly’s Salvation on General Hospital

There’s someone in Port Charles who has just proven they can beat the system. An acquaintance of Carly, this person may just be the key to preventing her from going to jail for RICO violations on General Hospital.

The Spy Who Fancied Her

When she’s not paired with Sonny (Maurice Benard), Carly (Laura Wright) ends up attracted, in one form or another, to the strangest and most befuddling men. Franco (then Roger Howarth), the reformed serial killer, comes to mind from their near-marriage years ago. Drew (Cameron Mathison) was another head-scratching beau.

More recently, she seemed somewhat attracted to Agent Cates (Adam J. Harrington) until he once again used his leverage on her to force Jason (Steve Burton) to do his bidding. Carly had no choice but to finally admit to the recording in which she announced to the Five Families that she had taken over the Corinthos Organization since Sonny was presumed dead in 2021.

Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) had been able to hack into the FBI database and locate the audio file, but he had used Cates’ clearance, which wasn’t high enough to have the ability to delete it. Meanwhile, Carly’s been having a strange, flirtatious dalliance with the incarcerated Brennan (Charles Mesure). Well, he was incarcerated until Anna (Finola Hughes) discovered there was no record of him being in Pentonville at all, and even files from the police station were gone. That fact right there might be the key to Carly’s salvation. (Find out how Carly got arrested.)

Mr. Brennan Could Be Mr. Right (Sort Of)

Brennan has been very open about the fact that he’s attracted to Carly and, therefore, has a soft spot for her. If he can pull off a stunt, like literally erasing any evidence at all that stated he was in prison, he can surely have an FBI audio file deleted before you can say Casey, the Alien.

As his and Carly’s world will most assuredly collide again, we have no idea how things will go down. Considering she’s in jail now, he’ll probably find out her predicament and visit her. It may take a few visits for her to unveil the whole truth to him about the evidence that was held over Jason’s head, but that seems to be the most likely scenario.

Brennan’s going to want something in return, but we don’t think it’s gonna be anything slimy. Odds are, based on the way he looks at her, he’ll ask for just one dinner to see where it goes. We can totally see Carly then embarking on an ill-fated romance with him because she’ll feel she owes him her life.

Still, six months later, she will realize what a horrible mistake she made as he gets embroiled in some sort of nefarious activities. Whether or not he’s Mr. Right, it looks like he’s the right man to help ensure her freedom! (Find out what’s coming up for Carly, Brennan, and Cates!)
