General Hospital viewers always know summer has arrived when the set for the Metro Court rooftop pool is brought out of mothballs. Memorable events have happened at the Port Charles hotspot, including Cody parachuting into it, Kristina plummeting out of Ava’s hotel room into the pool, and Curtis being paralyzed by a stray bullet intended for someone else. It’s that time of year again, and the show dropped a revealing look at how the set is brought to life.

Fans Clamored for More

An exciting video was posted on the official GH Instagram page, with the caption, “Anyone fancy a dip? 😎 #GH #GeneralHospital.” It was set to a Taylor Swift song called Cruel Summer, which is not to be confused with the much better original song of the same name by Bananarama, a hit in 1983. Crew members are seen assembling the massive set structure, framing the walls and floor.

The pool basin area was created and prepared for containing water. Meanwhile, the studio lights were set up to simulate sunlight. And large backdrops were added for the Port Charles cityscape in the background. Fans love to see behind-the-scenes videos, as one noted, “We need more of these videos. The crew is just as important as the actors.”

Summer Has Arrived

Seeing the video heralded the fun, warm season coming up as a viewer commented, “Oh goodie!! The pool is back! Here comes Summer!!👏👏.” Another viewer was looking forward to the antics that would happen poolside. “The pool, YES, pour those summer cocktails and watch the drama at the pool! Who will get pushed in this year?”

The video clip answered many fan questions, as a viewer responded, “Why did I think this set stayed up year-round, but closed off after Labor Day until Memorial Day?” While many fans commented that the pool not being a real, deep pool was disappointing, the video didn’t fail to deliver as another clamored, “More BTS please!!!!!!”
