It’s already been six months since Jason came back to Port Charles, and Steve Burton recently shared his thoughts on his latest return to General Hospital.
Amazing
In a recent live episode of the Daily Drama podcast, which Burton co-hosts with GH co-star Bradford Anderson, the actor received a fan question about his GH returns.
“How do you feel this return has been different from your 2018 return?” Anderson read the fan’s question.
Burton’s return actually happened in September 2017 after leaving GH in 2012 and doing a four-year stint on The Young and the Restless as Dylan. He resumed the role of Jason from 2017 to 2021 when he parted ways with GH due to ABC’s vaccine mandate at the time. After two years hopping back into his role as Harris on Days of our Lives and Beyond Salem, Burton made his grand return to GH in March.

“This return’s different because so much has happened in my life,” Burton began. “We all went through COVID and so many different things in life,” he said, referring to his 2023 divorce and being let go from GH. “It’s been amazing.”
Gratitude
Burton continued with a message of gratitude for the GH fans. “I’m grateful to be back, grateful that you guys watch the show,” he said, noting they wouldn’t be able to do what they do without the fans’ support.
Burton isn’t the only GH star full of gratitude lately. After his most recent stint as Nikolas, Adam Huss showed love to the GH fans for their support of him taking on the role.
Since his return in March, Burton has often said on his podcast how much he’s enjoying being back in Port Charles, noting it feels like old times and his excitement to work with friends like Jonathan Jackson and Anderson.
