Jason and Spinelli are about to be back on screen!
Since Jason returned to General Hospital earlier this year, he and his best bud Spinelli have only shared the screen once. But their portrayers revealed that’s about to change very soon.
As first reported by Daily Drama, who runs Steve Burton (Jason) and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) podcast of the same name, the actors were recently back on set together.
Burton shared a clip walking down the GH hallways, saying it was a typical day on set until Anderson ran up behind him. “Stonecold and The Jackal are back!” Burton announced as they stopped in front of a blue GH sign.
Burton encouraged viewers to tune in, saying it was going to be “awesome” before Anderson let a little spoiler slip. “We’re on screen together, too,” he whispered to the camera. “We’re working together… on screen,” he emphasized.
The real-life friends are used to working together on their podcast, which they’ve hosted for over six years. Before that, the two were in a band with former GH stars Scott Reeves (ex-Steve — find out why he should be next to return to Port Charles) and Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny).
Knowing Jason and Spinelli will soon be in scenes together begs a simple question: why? The characters were known for sharing scenes in the early 2000s, but their on-screen friendship has diminished in recent years, and especially since Jason’s March return.
Although Jason’s life was just on the line, along with Anna’s (Finola Hughes), at Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) camp, Jason always makes it out alive, and these teased future scenes prove just that. Jason may need Spinelli’s cyber skills for a number of situations, or maybe Spinelli will be in need of some advice from the man he admires most regarding career, kids, or his love, Maxie (Kirsten Storms).
If you just can’t wait until the two are back together on GH, you can see them live at the General Hospital Fan Celebration in Graceland next month, and later this year on the pair’s upcoming holiday tour.
