Smith Has Questions For Oliver

From Oscar winner Elizabeth Taylor (Helena) to ESPN presenter Stephen A. Smith (Brick), GH has always been the soap celebrities want to appear on. And now that John Oliver has made his pitch to be on a soap opera, GH is ready to welcome the Last Week Tonight host with open arms.

First, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) invited Oliver to be her on-screen love interest, and now Smith has taken to Instagram to prepare him for what it’s really like being a soap star.

“John Oliver @lastweektonight…I have one question: Are you ready to commit?!” Smith asked in the caption of a reel, during which he gave Oliver all the pointers he’s learned about being on a soap throughout his decade in Port Charles.

“You sure you ready for that? You sure you ready for the commitment that it’s going to take, John Oliver? Because this is serious!” Smith warned Oliver after showing the viral clip of Brick shooting an assassin dressed like a nurse.

After going on to tell Oliver that he has to be okay being a bad guy, Smith assured him, “They end up loving you in the end. Being a soap opera guy is pretty cool.”

Smith ended the reel by telling Oliver he’d give GH a call for him, leading to GH themselves to comment, saying, “We may have just the part for him. Our DMs are open.”
