Was This Sonny And John’s Fatal Final Battle On August 30 General Hospital?

Sonny and John had it out for the final time on the August 30, 2024 episode of General Hospital… and only one of them may have made it out alive.

After Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn, who recently went on a hilarious roadtrip with a GH co-star) and Anna (Finola Hughes) convinced John (Adam Harrington) to let Kristina (Kate Mansi) go instead of keeping her in a cell, he hurried to the Quartermaine Mansion, where he was expecting to arrest Sonny (Maurice Benard) in exchange for Kristina’s freedom. Sonny arrived early, having heartfelt conversations with Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), Michael (Chad Duell), Lois (Rena Sofer), and Carly (Laura Wright), unbeknownst to them that he was about to be arrested.

As a big storm rolled into Port Charles, John arrived at the Quartermaine boathouse, knowing Sonny had to be in earshot as he called his name. Sonny walked out, and when John spat his hate for the mobster, Sonny assured him he was about to learn who he truly was as he pulled out a gun.

Reminiscent of the way Sonny didn’t hesitate before shooting Dante back when he was undercover as Dominic, Sonny pulled the trigger and shot John straight in the chest. John fell to the ground, blood covering his shirt as Sonny pulled the trigger a second time.

As for the Corinthos kids, they’ve each gotten themselves into unexpected situations as their dad commits yet another crime. Dante learned that Lulu’s condition is progressing quicker than expected, while Michael went wandering around the Q estate in search of a missing Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) — who was back making out with Drew (Cameron Mathison) in his office — and will presumably catch his dad red-handed.

Meanwhile, once Alexis brought Kristina home, she grabbed her mom’s keys and sneaked to her dad’s penthouse, where she took a gun from his safe.
