Things finally came to a head between John and Sonny on the July 29, 2024 episode of General Hospital… but did Sonny fall for the setup?
A New Plan
Despite his several failed attempts at getting dirt on Sonny (Maurice Benard) from Jason (Steve Burton), John (Adam Harrington) got all the information he needed from his new roommate, Ava (Maura West). While getting ready for Carly’s (Laura Wright) hearing, Ava decided to reveal to the FBI agent that Sonny has been off his bipolar medicated for months.
This pivotal piece of information pleased John, who realized an under-medicated Sonny is not only useful in his case for revenge, but could benefit Ava in her custody battle if Sonny were to lash out at an FBI agent – who has already made John his target.
Taking A Hit
As everyone trickled into the courthouse, John questioned Molly (Kristen Vaganos) – whose dad Ric is set to return to Port Charles – about the information the DA’s office has on Sonny. But it was when Sonny showed up that John put his plan into action.
He all but harassed Molly about Sonny In an attempt to egg the mobster on. His plan initially worked, getting Sonny to confront him about his conversation with Molly and letting John know that he was right there and ready for him to come after him. As John continued spewing things about stripping for Sonny and Sonny’s relationship with his deceased brother, Sonny was just about to take a swing at John when Michael (Chad Duell) stepped in and stopped him.
