For four decades, Anthony Geary wasn’t just on General Hospital, he was General Hospital. Now, the soap is saying a final farewell to the late actor, and shared a sneak peek of the tribute, set the air during the January 23, 2026 episode.

Key Takeaways

Farewell, Anthony Geary

After Geary’s (Luke) death last December, GH has made a point to pay several tributes to their most legendary actor and character. First, the show re-aired Luke’s 2015 farewell episode, then included a tribute card at the end of another episode.

Now, it’s time to flash back to some of Luke’s greatest moments while Geary’s co-stars remember the actor and the man that he was. In a sneak peek posted to Instagram, Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis) kicks things off by saying, “Tony was a master craftsman. He was a deep thinker, curious, generous, and delightfully naughty…that was my favorite part about him.”

In between flashbacks of Luke, Laura Wright (Carly) follows up with, “Tony Geary was an incredible man, amazing actor, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to share the stage with him.”

During a flashback of Luke and Laura’s (Genie Francis) iconic wedding, we hear Francis say, “Some people were so alive, that they’ll never be gone.”

With thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, the tribute teaser gained the attention of former GH star John Stamos (Blackie), who shared, “Beautiful. I’m not crying, you are! Miss you Tony. You played such an important role in my life and in my career.”

Don’t miss the full tribute, airing during the January 23 episode.
