General Hospital recently said goodbye to two beloved characters, and now the soap is giving fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the stabbing that started it all.
Beginning of the End
It all began near Christmas when the PCPD’s latest rookie let it slip to Cyrus (ex-Jeff Kober) that he saw him at GH on the day of Sam’s (ex-Kelly Monaco) death. Already with a grudge against Dex (ex-Evan Hofer) for his almost-murder attempt when he worked for Sonny (Maurice Benard), Cyrus took an opportunity to stab Dex in an attempt to keep him quiet about what he saw.
His stabber was unknown for a while, but when Dex ultimately became another victim of digitalis, it was clear who his murderer was. Of course, wanting to avenge her boyfriend’s death, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) recently shot Cyrus dead, concluding the hate-to-love character’s story on GH.

Best of Friends
Despite being rivals on-screen, GH captured all the love on set the day Hofer and Kober filmed Dex’s stabbing.
“Our sources at the WSB discovered a few more photos of Dex’s final encounter with Cyrus Renault which paint a slightly different version of events between the two men…” GH captioned the Instagram post that included photos of the two actors smiling on set while Kober held a paper that read, “I [Heart] Dex.”

While fans flooded the comments with their disappointment about seeing the two actors go, the post also garnered a like from Hofer. Meanwhile, the pair’s former co-star Finola Hughes (Anna) commented with a simple heart emoji. Hughes worked closely with both actors as Anna attempted to take Cyrus down. Plus, she was the one to convince Dex to join the PCPD.
