Tributes to the late General Hospital star Anthony Geary have been pouring in for weeks, since his death on December 14, 2025. Now, GH found another way to honor the legend during the January 6, 2026 episode.
Key Takeaways
- Anthony Geary passed away in December and tributes poured in.
- GH honored the late actor with a tribute card after the January 6 episode.
- GH previously paid tribute to Geary by re-airing his final GH episode.
In Loving Memory of Anthony Geary
When Geary’s death was announced in mid-December, all of daytime remembered the actor who played GH’s legendary Luke Spencer. Former GH co-stars, soap actors, and even Soap Hub editors and contributors offered their love, condolences, and memories of Geary.
On January 1, GH kicked off the new year by re-airing Geary’s final full episode. Known as Luke’s farewell episode, it originally aired in July 2015 and followed Luke’s goodbye to Port Charles.
Now, to conclude the January 6 episode of GH, it ended with a slide in honor of the actor. “In loving memory of Anthony Geary,” the screen read, alongside a photo of the actor from an awards show.

“In loving memory of Anthony Geary at the end of today’s episode,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) along with a crying emoji, while Soap Opera News asked, “Was anyone else tearing up when #GH flashed that tribute card for Anthony Geary at the end of tonight’s episode?”
More Tributes to Come?
While GH fans anticipate a longer tribute to Geary in the future, the show first plans on honoring late cast members Tristan Rogers (Robert) and Denise Alexander (Lesley). It was only last September that GH paid tribute to the late Leslie Charleson (Monica), who passed away in January 2025.
