General Hospital Alum Ryan Paevey Is Living His Best Life On the Open Waters

Since leaving General Hospital and Hollywood behind, Ryan Paevey has been living his best life. He found peace in the open waters and ditched social media for a quieter life. But Paevey still shares updates on his Instagram. He told fans how he’s felt since leaving the entertainment industry.

Paevey shocked GH fans when he shared that working in the entertainment industry destroyed his mental health. He swapped out daytime television and Hollywood for Hallmark movies. (Check out Paevey’s announcement from June 2024.) When Paevey isn’t working, he’s surfing on the clear blue waters.

He shared a relaxing clip on his Instagram feed. The background music will put you in a meditative state. At one point, you can hear the dolphins swimming in the ocean. Paevey shared that he’s trying out his new surfboard, but he’s already getting the hang of it.

“First ride on the new board…feels a lot heavier than the last, but i think we are gonna do just fine. : )” he captioned his Instagram post.

Fans took to the comment section to react. One user wrote, “Living your best life.” Another user mused, “Peaceful,” while a third noted, “You’re crushing it!! Wish I was there watching you live.”

One fan took Paevey’s post as an Easter egg. They think it symbolizes the “next chapter” of his life. The user added, “Time to think and go outside the “usual box.” Keep kicking a** and proving your self-doubt wrong. 👏🏽👏🏽”

GH Alum Shares Update

It seems like Paevey is in a pensive mood. A couple of days before his open waters post, he reflected on his decision to leave the entertainment industry. And he doesn’t have any regrets.

“I get asked sometimes if I miss it….the way my life used to be. Not really, no. Hollywood paid pretty well, but it was pretty taxing on the heart, mind, and soul,” Paevey explained in his lengthy caption.

He left the Hollywood lights for the sea air. He’s been enjoying his new “quieter life,” which has provided more “happiness” than he’s ever experienced in his career. Paevey also teased a potential comeback to the small screen. “Who knows, I may yet dabble in film and tv stuff….if i can even get a job anymore (Hollywood isn’t often welcoming of hasbeens aiming for a return),” he added.
