Two General Hospital legends have passed away in recent months. Monica and Lesley had one of the greatest rivalries in GH history. They will be missed.
Fighting It Out
Back in the day, there was plenty of drama between the great quadrangle of Monica (the late Leslie Charleson), Alan (the late Stuart Damon), Lesley (the late Denise Alexander), and Rick (Chris Robinson).
Rick and Monica were engaged to be married, but he broke it off and went to Africa, where he was presumed dead. She then married his brother, Jeff, but cheated on him with Rick when it was discovered he was still alive. In the meantime, Rick fell for Lesley, much to Monica’s dismay. Then came some blackmail, a stair fall, and a miscarriage. Monica was still in love with Rick but married Alan.
Monica and Rick had a one-night stand while they were both married, and she became pregnant. She believed the baby was Rick’s, so he divorced Lesley to be with Monica, but baby A.J. turned out to be Alan’s. Rick went back to Lesley, and Monica stayed with Alan. In the midst of this story, Alan rigged a roof collapse on top of Rick and Monica, but ended up saving them.
Reunited And It Feels So Good?
The duo reunited in 2013 in an epic scene. Monica caught Lesley sneaking around GH and breaking into personal files. After the two traded snarky comments and rehashed the past, they relaxed and were actually kind to each other.
Lesley admitted she was looking for Luke’s (ex-Anthony Geary) test records because he left town, and Laura (Genie Francis) was worried.
