Paging 2026
Springfield may be best known as a world famous rockstar, but before he exploded onto the music scene in the early 80s, he played the iconic Dr. Noah Drake on GH. The actor and musician appeared on the soap off and on from 1981-2013, playing a total of three different roles: Noah, Eli Love, and himself at the 2013 Nurses Ball during GH’s 50th anniversary.
It may be years since we’ve last seen Noah in Port Charles, but Springfield has never left our screens, most recently appearing on New Year’s Rockin Eve with a performance of his hit “Jessie’s Girl.”

The comments were quickly flooded with fans who remembered him for his GH role. “Dr. Drake – General Hospital!!! College years…” one said, while another excitedly shared, “Omg!! This song was my first 45 record. I was a huge General Hospital fan, watched it every day and he was Dr. Noah Drake. Loved this song!! Played it over and over.”
“Well I have loved him since Dr. Noah Drake, but had no idea he is a tease!” said another watcher, while another simply responded, “Any Dr. Noah Drake fans out there??”
As for GH, Springfield is never too far from his soap fans. He recently paid tribute to the late Anthony Geary (Luke), and honored the late Jackie Zeman (Bobbie) during GH’s 60th anniversary primetime special in 2024.
