On General Hospital, Rebecca Budig, who played Hayden Barnes, was the onscreen mother to little Violet Finn, who continues to be played by Jophielle Love. Their onscreen bond was so real due in part to their offscreen friendship, which continues to this day. Recently, the two reunited.
This is not the first time the two have seen each other off the GH set since Budig took a powder from her role as Liz Webber’s (Rebecca Herbst) half-sister and Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) ex-fiancée back in 2019 after Nikolas manipulated her exit from Port Charles.
The two actors saw each other three years ago during a reunion off the set with Easton while celebrating Finola Hughes (Anna). That one was after a long dry spell (remember COVID lockdowns?) away from the studio.
This time, the two stars got together and shared the moment — complete with a new bearded friend — on Budig’s official Instagram account. While the older star didn’t say much, her younger one did in the comments when she wrote, “It had been too long! ❤️❤️❤️ and pretty cool to actually hang with a real bearded dragon … instead of just talking about one! Are you sure her name is not Roxy???”
GH fans will love the reference to Love’s onscreen dad’s pet, who looked a lot like this one. Apparently, Budig was watching the adorable bearded dragon as she made reference to only having him for seven more days. You can bet there were plenty of comments from fans, hoping this was a hint that Hayden might be on her way back to Port Charles, but there were no responses to those questions. Needless to say, it was obvious that there was still a lot of hope out there that Violet would see her mother again one day soon.
