Courtesy of his father Jason’s generosity, Jake, played by Hudson West, is off to art school abroad on General Hospital, which may be an indication that we’ll be seeing West less often. What will the young star be doing next? Soap Hub has the scoop!

True West

For now, Hudson isn’t making any announcements about his GH future. Fans have been posting his most recent scene with TV dad Steve Burton (Jason) on X, formerly known as Twitter. Hudson is reposting the tributes — but has yet to respond to inquiries from viewers on social media about his status in Port Charles.

We should note that Jake going off to art school doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be seeing any less of him or West. After all, it wasn’t that long ago that there was an on-air reference to Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) being abroad at school and she popped up on yesterday’s episode. There’s no reason to think that the same won’t happen with Jake. Being away from Port Charles doesn’t mean being gone from GH!

However, per the actor’s IMDB page, he does have three projects he’s working on and that could cut into his availability to play Jake. Hudson is doing (or may have completed by the time you read this) post-production work on The Arborist, a thriller, which tells the tale of grief-stricken arborist and her son who awaken a haunting when they begin felling trees at the estate of a mysterious recluse.

He’s also playing Young Butch in Butch Cassidy’s Forgotten Outlaw. That movie tells the story of an unassuming ranch hand who is implicated in a daring bank robbery. It stars Lesley Ann Warren (Cinderella), John Schneider (Smallville), and Lorenzo Lamas (ex-Hector, Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Lance, Falcon Crest).

Additionally, West is playing the part of Young Cole in Like It Was Yesterday, which is listed as being in “pre-production.” The project is actually an anthology TV series that is based on people’s earliest memories and explores connections through spiritual visitations and unexplained phenomena. David Steen, the real-life husband of Bobbie Eakes (ex-Macy, B&B; ex-Krystal, All My Children) is in the show’s cast.

Soap Hub will continue to bring you updates on West’s projects and roles — including if and when he pops back up next on GH! Check out this touching scene between Jason and Jake — with mom Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), too — that Hudson West has retweeted on X, formerly Twitter.
