Proof That Holly Might Be Lying About Sasha on General Hospital

General Hospital viewers were stunned when Holly was revealed to be Sasha’s mother. Or, at least, the woman that Sasha calls “mother.” Holly’s reaction to Sasha being Cody’s girlfriend — and Cody being Mac’s biological son — is supposed to make us think that Robert is Sasha’s father and the lovebirds are cousins. Ick. But here is how there might be more to the story.

After Holly (Emma Samms) miscarried Luke’s (Anthony Geary) baby when he was presumed dead (a pregnant Holly married Robert [Tristan Rogers] to avoid being deported, and the rest, as they say, is history), she has never expressed much of an interest in parenthood.

In fact, she and Robert were famous for being daytime’s happiest married, childless couple. (Oh, and side note: What was Mac [John J. York] talking about when he said, “Robert and Holly pulling cons together.” Is that what he calls…catching criminals? Interesting word choice.) She was content to play stepmother to Robin (Kimberly McCullough) — part-time, and she gave Ethan up for adoption. So maternal, Holly was not.

This is why we were so surprised to learn about not just one but two secret children. But what if Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) isn’t exactly what she seems?

Remember, we first met Sasha when Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) hired her to come to Port Charles and pretend to be Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) long-lost daughter. Sasha said her adoptive mother was dead, and she was all alone in the world. Sasha being Nina’s daughter proved to be a lie. So why not the part about her adoptive mother being dead, too?

Holly came from a family of con artists. What if Sasha is a cousin or niece that Holly raised to be a chip off the old family business? She calls her “mother” because that’s who Holly was to her. But she’s not a Scorpio, so not related to Cody (Josh Kelly).

Who better to hire to con Nina than a professional con like Sasha? Maybe there’s even a directory for this sort of thing. Holly may have prepped her adopted daughter to take the job in Port Charles, but she hadn’t realized the girl had decided to settle down there. Holly has been busy these past few years, doing…something. Now that they’re reunited, Holly may have another con in mind. This one involving Robert.
