January 2026 Performer of the Month
The Nominees
January was a big month for Chase (Josh Swickard)—his private investigation into Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting was found out, he was demoted at the PCPD, and things got physical between him and one of his best friends, Michael (Rory Gibson). Swickard stood true to Chase’s belief that his ex was innocent, frustrating those on and off screen in the best way. And when Chase switched from determination to furious, Swickard allowed his character to feel every ounce of it as he got in fights with Michael and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna).
Anna (Finola Hughes) has been unknowingly held captive by Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) for months, but January was when things took a turn. The moment Anna was greeted by Peter (Wes Ramsey), Hughes reminded us just how afraid of Faison (Anders Hove) her character truly is. When she begged for it to end and for Faison to finally show himself, Hughes gave an unforgettable performance of a woman desperate to leave her worst nightmare.
He might have spent a good chunk of the month laid up at GH with possible locked-in syndrome, but there’s no denying that Drew’s portrayer Cameron Mathison offered a performance for the books. Before the shock of getting shot up by his wife, Mathison showed us the true Drew—the man who can be easily triggered to go off the rails when faced with a potential threat to the life he’s built.
The Top Spot
Katelyn MacMullen is no stranger to our top spot, earning it this month for portraying the many sides of Willow. A determined mother, a worried wife, and a vindictive, betrayed woman were the three hats MacMullen wore as Willow in January, from doing anything she had to in order to win her court case to revealing more than one attempt at eliminating Drew. (And Willow will continue down this path in February according to General Hospital spoilers for February 2).
