The holiday season didn’t diminish the drama on General Hospital. Perhaps it even enhanced it as Michael and Willow’s marriage shattered. Dex Heller checked into GH, seemingly healthy, but never checked out. His and Sam’s deaths made the hospital a dangerous place to be. Drew was no longer the majority owner of Aurora, and the search for Charlotte took priority.

The Nominees

The four December nominees for GH caused a certain amount of chaos. Tracy’s (Jane Elliot) inability to work technology well put Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow’s affair on blast for the whole family to see. And ever since, Willow has had to deal with a storm of emotions and situations she never expected. As a result, Katelyn MacMullen stepped up to show us a woman feeling out of control in her own life.

Ric did his best by doing his worst at Ava’s (Maura West) trial, and for his efforts, he won Ava’s case. Then, Ric hilariously helped Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) decorate her place so they could together give Molly (Kristen Vaganos) the Christmas she deserves after experiencing so much despair in 2024. Through it all, Rick Hearst was stellar. He made sure Ric could go toe-to-toe with anyone in Port Charles, including Sonny (Maurice Benard).

Coming in second place with over 23% of the vote: Donnell Turner. Who knew Curtis would take to the corporate world so completely and definitively? He wore the you-know-what out of those Interim CEO suits. And Curtis took charge after Michael (Chad Duell) suggested they team up. Ultimately, Curtis kicked Drew to the curb. And Turner played all the beats from corporate badass to betrayal.

The Top Spot

Finally, Alexa Havins won the December Performer of the Month poll with 42% of the vote. It’s no surprise. Ever since Lulu woke up from her four-year coma, her presence has caused a little chaos. She has already confronted her rivals and doesn’t back down from anyone, including Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure). This month, Lulu desperately searched for her daughter Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) and finally found her.

One minute, Lulu feels like she hasn’t caught up to 2024. To her, it’s still four years ago. The next minute, she’s bulldozing her way to some answers. Plus, Havins has chemistry with just about everyone on the canvas. Overall, the All My Children alum quickly made Lulu her own as her character attempted to adjust back to the land of the non-comatose.
