The PCPD May Lose Another Cop On General Hospital

The Port Charles Police Department has had plenty of shakeups in recent years on General Hospital, from Nathan’s death to switching out Jordan for Anna as the commissioner. On the May 6, 2024 episode, it looks like the PCPD may be losing another one of its finest.

The Detective Debate

Since getting shot on the pier a few months ago, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) has started questioning whether he wants to remain a cop. But the final straw for him came at the hands of his father. After learning about Dex’s (Evan Hofer) decision to join the PCPD, Sonny (Maurice Benard) warned his son about his former employee and subtly suggested that Dante look the other way no matter what Dex reveals about his business.

The battle between being a good cop and a good son weighed on Dante, so he brought the debate to Sam (Kelly Monaco). Sam admitted she’s fearful whenever Dante goes to work and that she would be grateful if he decided to give up his badge.

Should I Stay Or Should I Go

Dante showed up at Anna’s (Finola Hughes – check out where else you can watch the actress) office and handed the unsuspecting commissioner his resignation. When she asked what prompted his decision, he confessed to being torn over his father before placing his badge on Anna’s desk.

Anna has been less than a fan of Sonny’s recently, admitting her debt to Sonny has been paid in full, and she hoped Dante would feel the same way. She fought him on his decision, reminding him that his badge protected him from Sonny, not the other way around, and got stern with him when she ended the conversation by saying, “You’re staying, Detective… understood?”
