Actress Bronwén Booth, best known for her portrayal of Andy Harrison on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live, recently passed away at the age of 59.
Born on February 21, 1964, in Marylebone, London, England, Bronwén Booth began her acting career playing Isis in the horror film Eternal Evil in 1985. Her career took another turn when she joined the cast of One Life to Live as Max Holden’s (James DePaiva), Steve Holden (Russ Anderson), and Jake Harrison’s (Joe Lando) spunky half-sister in 1989.
After much family in-fighting, the feisty brunette settled in Llanview, where she infringed upon her brothers’ love lives, ran a local bar, and dated a few of the city’s most eligible bachelors. In 1991, Andy fell head over heels in love with Hunter Guthrie (Leonard Stabb), and the newly married couple took off to California to facilitate their movie-making dreams.
Booth followed up her stint in daytime with roles in such films as The Call of the Wild, Snowboard Academy, Kayla, Glory & Honor, For Hire, Airspeed, and Babel. In 2000, she landed the pivotal role of Lee Bouvier in Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis opposite Tim Matheson and Joanne Whalley.
The actress peppered her acting resume with primetime gigs on programs such as Ask Harriet, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Scrubs, Naked Josh, and Nurse Jackie. Booth added other feature films, such as Pact with the Devil, Voices, The Healing Project, and What’s Your Number, before pursuing successful marketing and public relations ventures.
No matter what she was doing career-wise, her philanthropic endeavors always held a special place in her heart. Her empathy and love of horses led her to work extensively with Blue Rider Stables, a therapeutic horse-riding non-profit organization.
The actress battled ampullary cancer, a rare form of gastrointestinal cancer, in her final days. Booth passed away on April 4, 2023, surrounded by her husband, producer/actor Nick Miscusi, family, and other loved ones, and the news was just released to the press recently.
Soap Hub sends its sincere condolences to Miscusi and the rest of Booth’s family, friends, and fans. Bronwén Booth wished for donations to be made in her honor to Blue Rider Stables.
