Sure, Luke and Laura technically saved the world from the Ice Princess, but they weren’t the only superheroes in daytime. Here are five soap stars you forgot played heroic roles.

Nathan Fillion (One Life To Live)

Nathan Fillion got his start as Joey Buchanan on One Life To Live from 1994-1997, and has since found success in both movies and television, including his latest primetime starring role in ABC’s The Rookie.

Now, the actor is lending his talent to the upcoming film Superman as Guy Gardner, better known as Green Lantern. Superman is set to be released in July 2025.

Chadwick Boseman (All My Children)

The late Chadwick Boseman, who passed away in 2020 from colon cancer, was best known for his role as the Black Panther himself in Marvel’s Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Nut long before he was part of the MCU, Boseman’s very first role was as Reggie on All My Children. When Boseman exited the role, he was replaced by his future Black Panther co-star Michael B. Jordan,

Deidre Hall (Days of our Lives)

Everyone knows Deidre Hall as Marlena, a role she’s played for over 45 years on Days of our Lives. But many may forget that the same year as her DAYS debut, the actress starred as Electra Woman on ABC’s live action superhero series Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

Justin Hartley (The Young and the Restless)

Justin Hartley became well-known in daytime for his roles as Fox on Passions and Adam on The Young and the Restless. But between the two Soap stints, Hartley played Oliver Queen, better known as Green Arrow, on the primetime Superman series Smallville.

James Patrick Stuart (General Hospital)

James Patrick Stuart has been beloved by General Hospital fans as the nefarious Valentin Cassadine, a role he’s held off and on since 2016. While he may be sent off to Steinmauer now to pay for his crimes, there’s a reason he was off and on the run in recent years.

Although this was a supervillain rather than a superhero, Stuart played Kraniac on the Disney Channel sitcom The Villains of Valley View for its two season run.
