Nancy Lee Grahn Assembles an All-Star Soap Lineup to Fight ALS

On-screen, Nancy Lee Grahn, as Alexis Davis, is supporting her pal Gregory Chase, who is fighting ALS. Off-screen, the General Hospital actress is producing a huge gathering of daytime pals for later this year to raise funds and awareness of the condition that has affected the lives of so many, including a friend of hers.

Nancy Lee Grahn: Daytime Unites For ALS

A joint Instagram post with ALS One Official and Grahn explains: “We are extremely excited and very grateful to announce, Daytime Unites to Help End ALS, hosted by Nancy Lee Grahn, of ABC’s General Hospital, in full support of ALS ONE. This incredible daytime star-studded event will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in California at the Embassy Suites Los Angeles Glendale, beginning at noon.

“In 2020, I started doing Zoom events as a way to stay connected to everyone during the pandemic,” Grahn explains. “At one of these events, I met my friend, Michelle. She was diagnosed with ALS in 2018 and has fought every day with grace, positivity and fierceness. I’ve learned a lot from her since our first meeting. One of those things is that ALS is not incurable. It’s underfunded. Through the last few years, I’ve made ALS ONE my main cause to help fight to find a cure for my friend Michelle and all those with ALS.”

Attendees can enjoy an incredible day and night with some of the most familiar faces from daytime TV. There will be a Q&A, a meet and greet, auction items, and music. Veteran soap fans recall that Daytime Emmy-winner Michael Zaslow (ex-Roger, Guiding Light) was diagnosed with ALS in the mid-1990s. After leaving GL, ABC and One Life to Live invited the actor to reprise his role as David Renaldi. He passed away in 1998.
