A Miracle for General Hospital’s Molly and Chase?

It’s been a sad year for the aspiring parents of General Hospital. First, Molly found out she couldn’t have children, her first surrogate lost the baby she was carrying for Molly and TJ, and then Molly’s sister, Kristina, looked like she planned to keep the daughter she’d committed to giving to Molly and TJ — but that was all before Baby Adela/Irene died at birth. Now, Chase has been hit with the head-butt that he’s infertile and won’t be able to give Brook Lynn the baby they both desperately want. Or so the show would like us to believe…

Miracles and Wonder

Let us never forget that both Molly (Kristen Vaganos) and Chase (Josh Swickard) live in Port Charles, the town where regular science doesn’t apply. The town of diamond-based weather machines, killer toxins, disease-carrying bunnies, scar-free burn victims, and so, so many people coming back from the dead. Anything can happen! Let’s see if it will!

Misery Loves Company

Molly is sad. Chase is sad. They should be sad together! And being sad on a soap only means one thing — sad sex! Not that birth control is a major concern for anyone on daytime, but in Molly and Chase’s case, they can be completely nihilistic. “We can’t have children? No condoms for us!” (Sexually transmitted diseases? What are those?)

Actions Have Consequences

Chase is shooting blanks, Molly’s uterus is too scarred for a zygote to implant? (Author’s note: We are NOT making fun of real people who suffer from these conditions. We are making fun of soap characters, who are not real people.) Won’t they be surprised when the rabbit dies? (Though not the rabbit who carries a deadly plague. Don’t believe us? Google “General Hospital Lassa Fever 1979″ and “bunny.” See what happens.) And then get ready for nine months of “we didn’t think we could get pregnant!” as an excuse.
