Michael Has A Life-Changing Decision To Make On January 17 General Hospital

Michael’s family is still at odds over his care, and only he can decide what he truly wants on the January 17, 2025 episode of General Hospital.

After a helpful conversation with Chase (Josh Swickard), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) asked Carly (Laura Wright) and Sonny (Maurice Benard, who will be joining Daytime Makes A Difference) to meet her at Michael’s (Chad Duell) room. There, she informed them that she had come to the conclusion that they needed to be involved in his care. Carly rushed to the window to look in on her son while Sonny thanked Willow for her understanding.

But it didn’t last long when Portia (Brook Kerr) arrived to discuss the next steps in Michael’s recovery. After Portia told them a space was available at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Willow was completely on board. Meanwhile, Carly already set other plans in motion. After she admitted that Brennan (Charles Mesure) had gotten Michael into the clinic in Germany – the one with the doctor from the Russian hospital that treated Ava’s (Maura West) burns years ago – she and Willow were once again at odds over what was best for Michael. That was when Sonny realized it needed to be Michael’s decision.

Up and At ‘Em

The only way to find out what Michael wanted was to wake him up despite the excruciating pain he would experience. They all agreed Carly would be the one to talk to him, and as soon as he stirred awake, she spoke over his moans to tell him that he had a decision to make.

The first time Michael woke up, he had Jason (Steve Burton) by his side for only a minute before he was sedated again. This time, he stayed awake longer. But his pain may be the driving factor in his decision to stay in the U.S. or go to a whole different country.
