General Hospital has seen a few actors leave the show in recent months, like Kelly Monaco, Chad Duell, and Charles Mesure. But other actors have joined the ensemble including Chris McKenna, Van Hansis, and Bryce Durfee. Now there’s a new player in Port Charles: Adrian Anchondo. Let’s take a look at the actor’s career and who he’s playing.
He’s Got Dark Secrets
Adrian Anchondo has been in several TV shows over the years including The Rookie, Law & Order: Organized Crime, and FBI: Most Wanted among many others. According to TV Insider, Anchondo is now on contract with GH and will play a lawyer named Marco (not to be confused with con artist Marco Dane played by Gerald Anthony in the 1980s and 90s). Anchondo told the outlet that while his new character can be “sweet and charming,” he also has some “dark secrets.”
He further described Marco as, “Very intelligent and very articulate, which is kind of opposite of who I am as a person. I don’t find myself to be the most articulate person [laughs].” He’s played characters in the past who’ve required a lawyer but never played one himself until now. Anchondo also knew Hansis long before joining GH and when the actor told him he was playing a doctor, Anchondo reckoned, “If he can do it, I think I can handle the legal stuff.”

His Grandmother Is Pleased
When he’s not acting, Anchondo is keeping himself busy by working to earn his Master’s Degree in Psychology. He remarked, “What I love about marriage and family therapy and psychology is that working as an actor and working as a therapist, there are a lot of similarities.” He noted that the study of the heart and the mind work in tandem, and he actually has clients at the moment.
Anchondo further explained that he’s figuring out how to juggle both careers and stated, “It’s a little challenging with trying to work around the schedule, but I love it.” He’s also familiar with GH because his late mother used to watch it, and so did his grandmother who stopped for a while but is now tuning in again. He enthusiastically stated, “She’s been getting caught up and she’s like, ‘Oh, my God, there’s so many storylines I have to remember now.’ She’s so excited and proud.” (Find out who’s the best lawyer in Port Charles.)
