In the Tuesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 13 episodes of General Hospital, Carly and Drew’s relationship is in serious trouble as they argue about — who else — Jason. Drew knows his brother means more to Carly than anyone else. And Carly refuses to believe Jason would ever shoot Dante. Laura Wright, who plays Carly, raves to Soap Opera Digest about these intense and volatile scenes that, apparently, end Carly’s relationship with Jason’s brother.
Drew and Carly: Relationship Rocked to its Core
Jason’s (Steve Burton) big return involved turning to the person he connects with on many different levels: Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). Unfortunately for the best friends, their reunion was brief, since Anna (Finola Hughes) and John (Adam J. Harrington) were on his tail. And now Carly has to answer to Drew, (Cameron Mathison) who’s upset he didn’t hear about his brother’s “resurrection” from her. This leads to an argument where Drew and Carly loudly voice their differing perspectives.
“I think they are the best scenes I’ve ever had with Cameron, ” Laura Wright told Soap Opera Digest. “It’s some of the best work I’ve ever seen him do. He was so beautiful and raw.”
“It’s the two of you: Jason and Carly. You come first with each other. You always have and you always will.”

The confrontation turns out to be a game-changer for the Drew and Carly relationship, which is something neither Wright nor Mathison saw coming. The Daytime Emmy-winning actress admits she was shocked. “I hadn’t read the script yet because I had three shows prior [to focus on],” she explains. “But Cameron was shooting the aftermath [scenes], talking to somebody about breaking up with Carly, and he texted me and was like, ‘What the hell?!'”
“I don’t know if there’s a word for how I feel about Jason.”

The thought of Drew and Carly no longer being together is taking a bit of an adjustment. “It was definitely an about-face — but I kind of like that, because I think that’s what daytime used to be like, right? And the scenes were so full of emotion. They were so well done. I’m proud of them.”
