Asher Antonyzyn has had quite the first year on General Hospital, and the young actor has revealed what makes this role so special.
An Unexpected Reveal
Antonyzyn debuted on GH in October 2023 as Danny, Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam’s (ex-Kelly Monaco) son. Danny has been on quite the emotional journey since Antonyzyn took on the role, reuniting with his dad, whom he thought was dead, and most recently losing his mom.
The actor recently joined his co-stars Burton and Bradford Anderson on their Daily Drama podcast, where he made a major reveal about working on GH. “I was so nervous, I did not know what to expect because General Hospital was my first job.”

That bit of information shocked Antonyzyn’s on-screen dad. “This is your first job? This is your first acting job ever?” Burton emphasized. “I’m even more impressed now.”
Crediting Mom And Dad
In true soap fashion, Danny just recently had some emotional scenes during Sam’s funeral, and Burton went on to ask his TV son what it was like to be on GH for his first job.
“It was super crazy,” Antonyzyn admitted, then recalled his first scene being the 2023 Halloween episode when Danny joined Jake (ex-Hudson West), Charlotte(ex-Scarlett Fernandez), and Georgie (Lily Fisher) for trick-or-treating. “They helped me so much,” he revealed about GH’s youngsters. “That was when, like, all the younger kids were there, so it was a very long day.”
Antonyzyn then recounted his next day on set, which he shared with Monaco. “She helped me a lot, just learning all this stuff,” he spoke about his former TV mom. “And I’ve just picked up so much from you, Steve,” he continued, offering his gratitude to Burton.
