Real-life children don’t grow up overnight like they do on soap operas, but Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie on General Hospital, can attest that they indeed do age! She is sharing a story about how her daughter Harper is scaling new heights — literally.
Kirsten Storms: Harper Goes Rock Climbing
“I told Harper that she looked like a little lizard at @boulderdashclimbing yesterday,” Storms posted on Instagram about the daughter she shares with Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny, now, Stefan, Days of our Lives).
“Some of the walls she raced up, some of them took a bit more time to accomplish, but she refused to give up,” the proud mom continues. “On her last climb, I could see her little limbs shaking, as she tried to hang on to a peg that was the size of a floss container. I’m constantly in awe of her enthusiasm and the joy she finds in things that challenge her. She would tell you that she does NOT find joy in being challenged, but the last photo in this bunch I snapped as she collapsed to the ground after 90 mins of climbing. Pretty sure that is a happy kid — with kind of ridiculous biceps.”
Climb Every Mountain
Storms shared with Maurice Benard (Sonny) on his YouTube series State of Mind about psychologically challenging mountains that she herself has climbed. The actress adds that her daughter’s efforts were tiring but worth the effort. “Deliriously exhausted, but happy…and hopefully proud of herself. Because I sure-as-[expletive] am proud of her. PS. Anyone else here ever look at their kid(s) and think God, I wish they could gift me 10% of their energy next Mother’s Day? I’d never need coffee again…?'”
The actress’s TV mom, Kristina Wagner (Felicia), weighed in with her thoughts on Harper’s accomplishment. She posted: “Wow! That’s really hard. Takes lots of arm strength. She got some distance!” Laura Wright (Carly) commented on Harper’s efforts and her mom’s post with four heart emojis.
