Kin Shriner’s General Hospital character has been known for coming and going over the years, but with Scott MIA in Port Charles, his portrayer is speaking out.
Where Is Scott?
Shriner has portrayed Scott for nearly five decades, dating back to the pre-Luke (ex-Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) days, all the way up until the recent murder of Jagger (ex-Adam Harrington).

Scott was last seen on the August 16, 2024 episode when he was asked to deliver Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) sneaky pharmacist to Wyndemere in attempt to hide him out until Jagger could throw the mobster behind bars. But that plan went south as soon as Jason (Steve Burton) tracked down the pharmacist. Scott went running, and hasn’t been seen since.
Shriner Speaks Out
After Shriner stated on X (formerly Twitter), “Scott Baldwin gone,” the actor has now delved more into his feelings about his exit, and a possible reason for it.
“When I came on @GeneralHospital in 1977 the actors that were there and kept the show on the air for 14 years I held in the highest esteem,” Shriner began. “Now the long running characters have no respect…”
The actor’s words come not long after the firing of another long-time cast member, Kelly Monaco, who played Sam for nearly 21 years and filmed her final scenes last week.
Shriner also credited his late, on-screen parents, Peter Hansen and Susan Brown, with a photo of the two actors, saying they helped make it possible for him to have a 47-year run on GH.
He Did It His Way
As for why Scott has seemingly been written out, Shriner found some humor in the situation.
“Well Scotty did ad lib his last 2 lines about glazed donuts so if that’s the end of @GeneralHospital I did it my way like Sinatra,” he shared, followed by five exclamation points.
Shriner is referring to one of his last scenes, shared with Philip Cass as Sonny’s pharmacist, where he asks what snacks he’d like him to bring to Wyndemere. “I’ll tell you what, I’ll get us some glazed doughnuts and coffee, so sit tight, I’ll be back!” were Scott’s final words.
