Why Is General Hospital Killing All Of Josslyn And Trina’s Boyfriends?

General Hospital‘s resident college students don’t seem to have any luck in love. Any man who dates Josslyn or Trina appears to end up dead.

The Latest Casualty

No one saw the death of Dex (Evan Hofer) last week coming, least of all his girlfriend, Josslyn (Eden McCoy).

The poor guy had just redeemed himself after working for Sonny (Maurice Benard). He became a respected police officer and won back Josslyn’s love. Life was pretty good until he was stabbed in Rice Plaza out of nowhere. The good doctors at GH patched him up, and things were looking up until he mysteriously died, probably at the hands of Cyrus (Jeff Kober). Josslyn is devastated.

Joss suffered a similar traumatic loss back in high school. Her first love was the sweet Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt). Unfortunately, Oscar had cancer and passed away at the hospital while his girlfriend slept in the chair beside him. It was a heartbreaking story.

Now, she has lost Dex. Cameron (William Lipton) was lucky to escape Port Charles when he did.

Besties Bad Luck

Trina (Tabyana Ali) will need to be there for Josslyn after her boyfriend’s death. After all, their roles were recently reversed when the love of Trina’s life, Spencer (Alexander Chavez), fell overboard in Paris and was presumed dead. She is still not completely over the loss.

Just like her best friend, another boyfriend of Trina’s also died young. Officer Rory (Michael Kruse) may not have been her soul mate but Trina did care for him. The Hook KIller murdered Rory, unfortunately.

It now looks like there may be a spark between the art history student and PCU football player Kai (Jens Austin Astrup). We can only hope he makes it.

Joss and Trina are not your average college girls. They are not partying and joining sororities. They are falling in love and watching their boyfriends die. Do you think the GH writers should give these girls a break and let them be happy for a while? Let us know in the comments.
