Kelly Thiebaud Answers Fans’ Questions About General Hospital Return

Kelly Thiebaud, as Britt the Britch on General Hospital, was the woman viewers loved to hate and then, loved to love. The actress left the show in early 2023 when her character died trying to save Joss from the Hook AKA Heather Webber. Now, the actress is updating her fans about what she was up to on her last visit to Los Angeles.

Her Next Move

Thiebaud spoke out about her exit after her final appearance on the show. While Britt, at one point, was looking to quietly slip out of town and let people think she was gone for good, her departure became more permanent after Britt died following an encounter with the Hook (Alley Mills, who plays Heather).

“I needed [Britt] to die so that I, Kelly, can move on from that character,” Thiebaud said in a Coastal Entertainment gathering. However, soap fans have seen actors come and go from the genre over the years. Sure, there was a period put at the end of Britt’s tale, but viewers have seen similar periods turned into semicolons over the years.

After leaving GH, Thiebaud moved to England, and later, moved back to the United States. She reunited with her daytime pals in December at the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys as both a nominee and a presenter. “I haven’t seen anyone from the show since I left,” the actress told Soap Hub prior to the awards, “So it will be a real treat.”

During her Coastal chat, Thiebaud addressed the possibility of a return to Port Charles. “It would need to be done in a special way,” she said. After a pause, she added, “I don’t know if I would want to do that…it was a tough, a very tough decision [to leave]. I feel bad about it, but also, I was happy about it.”

More recently, Thiebaud made another trip to Los Angeles. Was it for pleasure or work? Perhaps it was a bit of both. The actress shared on social media photos of herself hiking and visiting with friends in Hollywood.

“I thought you were coming back to GH,” wrote tperky63 on Thiebaud’s Instagram post, which can be seen below. “I tried,” Thiebaud responded without further elaborating. (GH doesn’t comment on casting until it happens so we’re not quite sure how far along — if at all — any talks may or may not have proceeded.)

One thing is for sure — Kelly Thiebaud is missed by her fans! “We love you,” tperky63 wrote. Added tbell_223: “you tried to go back to GH? That would be awesome to see you back! Jason needs you.”
