An X user shared the behind-the-scenes video from GH. In it, Monaco, dressed in a hospital gown, stood holding a huge bouquet of flowers. She said, “I’ve been on this lot for 25 years. And you have all been my family, not only my second family, but my first family. And I just thank each and every one of you for all these memories and this experience that I’ll take with me for the rest of my life.”
She credited casting director Mark Teschner with getting her started at GH. “You started this whole journey for me, and it has been a wild ride, and it will not be the last that you see of me. Thank you very much for having me.”
Those gathered clapped for Monaco as she wrapped Sam’s journey on the soap. Someone commented on how the flowers she held were bigger than she was.
Fans were thrilled to see the touching moment, and many expressed they hoped it was merely goodbye for now. One wrote, “Thank you for sharing this. Class act right to the very end. Love Kelly so much!”
