General Hospital star Kelly Monaco remembered her former co-star and friend, Billy Miller, on the first anniversary of his death. The actress broke her social media silence to share a sweet photo of the two of them behind the scenes, and she made a promise.
Monaco posted on Instagram early Sunday. She wrote, “Duces “I’ve got your back, and you always had mine.” I will tell our story soon enough…. 😇🙏🏻❤️ I love and miss you… and beyond [General Hospital], [Nathan Varni], [Disney], [Hulu], [Frank Valentini] #craigerwich #robmills”
The post is Monaco’s first since news broke that she was let go from GH late last month. Her character, Sam McCall, will reportedly die.
Last year, Miller, a multi-time Daytime Emmy winner, died of suicide just short of his 44th birthday. After his tragic death, his mom, Patricia Miller, issued a statement. It said, “I want to personally thank the many fans & personal friends for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers & condolences sent to me and my family on the devastating death of my beautiful son BJ — Billy Miller. He fought a long, hard, valiant battle with bipolar depression for years. He did everything he could to control the disease. He loved his family, his friends, and his fans, but in the end, the disease won the fight, and he surrendered his life. The other causes of death being told are not true. I wish they were, but they just aren’t. We all loved him so much and are desperately trying to deal with our loss. I will have nothing further to say. Thanks for the love and support.”
After Miller left GH in 2019, Monaco tweeted, “I feel like I have to address this situation. #BillyMiller ‘s untimely departure from #gh. Honestly, I can not come up with the words to describe how I feel about this decision… a decision that may not be what our audience thinks to be true. I’m heartbroken… more to come.”
Soap fans will remember that Miller starred as Richie Novak on All My Children from 2007-2008. He went on to portray Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless from 2008-2014. Finally, he portrayed Jason Morgan, who was really Drew Cain on GH from 2014-2019.
It’s unclear what story Monaco has to tell about herself and Miller. Soap Hub will keep you informed as we learn more.
