Katelyn MacMullen Loves Willow’s Scandalous General Hospital Story

General Hospital certainly has quite the scandalous storyline going on with Willow and Drew’s affair. What started as a kiss that should never have happened turned into a horizontal bop between the Quartermaine congressman and his nephew’s wife. Katelyn MacMullen, who plays Willow, gave her insight into the ignominious tryst.

Drillowgate Has Begun

Although Drew (Cameron Mathison) having sex with Nina (Cynthia Watros) on every floor imaginable was kind of funny and very naughty, things got worse as the supposedly virtuous guy ended up doing the deed with her daughter, Willow. For a man who was in the military, he had no honor and didn’t give a tinker’s cuss about how sleeping with Willow would not only affect her marriage to Michael (Chad Duell) but also hurt the kids and bring shame to their family. (Rewind to when Michael first learned of Drew and Willow’s shenanigans.)

MacMullen enthusiastically spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the torrid affair and the video that accidentally played on the TV during the Quartermaine Christmas party. When she learned that the nursery would be the setting for Willow and Drew’s first time, she thought, “Oh, my gosh, this is so scandalous, I love it!” She also said she wasn’t sure why the playroom was where they, well, played, but recalled Willow and Michael doing it there. And they’re probably always in the nursery for one reason or another.

Embarrassment Factor: 100%

“Uh-oh, that can’t be good!” was her thought when stage direction in the script noted that a nanny cam would be filming them. She then accepted what was about to happen and the potential fallout afterward, exclaiming, “Okay! We’re going there! This will see the light of day!” She had knots in her stomach while reading in the script that the whole family would be witness to their disgraceful tryst. And that she’d be buck naked for all the Quartermaines to see. (Find out why the affair is actually a good thing.)

But, having such a hugely scandalous moment prompted her to feel, “Oh, this is epic!” especially knowing that the family won’t ever forget this Christmas. “Even if it had just been seen by her partner, she would have had to answer for what she’d done,” MacMullen stated. “But for it to air in front of their whole family? That’s just the worst-case scenario.”
