Heartbreak hit Port Charles as as a devastated Josslyn said goodbye to Dex on the December 16, 2024 episode of General Hospital.
After the news of Dex’s (ex-Evan Hofer) death broke, Anna (Finola Hughes) called the only person she knew would be there for a grieving Josslyn (Eden McCoy). Jason (Steve Burton) arrived stonecold as ever as they peeked in on Joss saying goodbye to her boyfriend.
Dex, who just joined the list of GH’s lost potential characters, was still and pale while Joss processed his death, everything from him looking like a stranger in the bed to still feeling him with her. She tearfully assured him that she loved him, and thanked him for loving her. Once she finished, she spotted Jason and hurried into his arms.

As Joss joined Jason on the famous footbridge, he wondered why he brought her there. The sight of the bridge could instantly comfort long-time viewers, but Jason needed to explain to Joss that it was his favorite place to think and talk, letting her pour her heart out about losing both Dex and Oscar (ex-Garren Stitt).
Meanwhile at GH, Portia (Brook Kerr) allowed Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) to sit in on her meeting with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) where she broke the news that she needed her to temporarily step down as head nurse. Elizabeth didn’t fight it and instead began working with Lucky to figure out exactly what’s going on at the hospital.
Out by the nurses station, Anna called Mac (John J. York) and Felicia (Kristina Wagner) to discuss Dex’s death. After blaming herself for asking Dex to join the PCPD, Mac and Felicia helped her realize that whoever stabbed Dex most likely came to GH to finish the job.
