Much like Oliver Wendell and Lisa Douglas before them, General Hospital favorite Josh Swickard and his wife Lauren (a recent GH guest star) are trading the hustle and bustle of city life for peace (but not much relaxation) further afield.
Josh Swickard Is Bound For The Country
In a statement posted to both their Instagram accounts, the Swickards revealed that, “After a 9 month farmhouse renovation, we are so happy to tell the world…….WE BOUGHT A FARM! We know we have a looooot to learn, and so many memories to make. Saying bye to Los Angeles was bitter sweet, but we are looking forward to the next chapter!”
The actor who portrays Harrison Chase elaborated on the adventurous undertaking during a Costal Entertainment Zoom, in which he appeared alongside fellow GH co-star Amanda Sutton (Brook Lynn Quartermaine), and copped to a (hilarious) personal failing.
Said Swickard, “We moved outside of Los Angeles…it’s just a small avocado orchard…It’s got 410 trees, and I don’t know anything. I literally saw a video in my head of, like, me working on a farm and I was like, that’s beautiful. Let’s buy a farm. And then now that we own it, every day, Amanda is like, so how’s the farm and I’m like, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing…'”
Luckily, as Swickard grows in knowledge, so will his farm. Or at least that’s the idea. “We’re trying to transition it to organic or certified organic. So, every day is so fun and so stressful and…hilarious and we’ll probably post more pictures about it online. So, people can kind of follow along on that journey.”
For anyone concerned that the relocation might mean reduced screentime — or even a permanent exit for Swickard — his wife has good news. In response to a fan making a similar inquiry she assured, “he’s not ❤️”
Soap Hub congratulates Josh and Lauren Swickard on their purchase and wishes them nothing but the best in their endeavors.
