It was a big day for politics in Port Charles as Jordan made a major move and Drew revealed his next conniving plan on the April 16, 2025 episode of General Hospital.
Press Conference Chaos
At Laura’s (Genie Francis) press conference about the upcoming McConkey Esplanade, she was joined by her Deputy Mayor Jordan (Tanisha Harper), as well as Drew (Cameron Mathison), Ezra (Daniel Cosgrove), Curtis (Donnell Turner), Anna (Finola Hughes), and a slew of reporters. As Laura explained the debate about the location of the esplanade, she was met with Ezra ‘s constant remarks claiming she was prioritizing her friendship with Sonny (Maurice Benard) over the esplanade.
This led to Laura revealing that it was now up to the people of Port Charles to vote on whether the esplanade should be built on the piers Sonny owns, or elsewhere. But things took a turn when Jordan suddenly voiced her opinion and, right there in the middle of the press conference, gave Laura her resignation.

Shock filled the room, and later when Jordan arrived at Laura’s office with her letter of resignation, Laura admitted she didn’t see that coming. The two had already spoken about Jordan quitting to go undercover working for Sidwell (Carlo Rota), and her doing it at the press conference was the best way to get Laura’s genuine reaction.
The news of Jordan’s resignation traveled fast, and it wasn’t long until she got a call from Sidwell to discuss her future working for him.
Cutthroat Continues
As for Drew and Ezra, when they returned to Drew’s office after the press conference, Drew congratulated Ezra on how well he did speaking out against Laura. Then Drew suggested that now is the perfect time for him to run against Laura in the next mayoral election. “Ezra, you do everything I say, you will be in the mayor’s office… where you will continue to do everything I say.”
