General Hospital just teased Jonathan Jackson’s exciting return with an iconic photo that will make viewers old and new go, “Awww.”
It’s been a nostalgic time in Port Charles, with Steve Burton making his comeback as Jason earlier this year and Rick Hearst gearing up to reprise his memorable role as Ric, but Jackson bringing his legacy character, Lucky, home is one that warms the hearts of many.
To celebrate his return, GH snapped and shared an iconic photo to commemorate the occasion, and it’s more sentimental than you think.
In the Instagram post where the soap noted how “lucky” they are to have Jackson back, the actor stands beside a promo poster. It reads “Luke & Laura” in big, bold letters with the characters’ silhouettes. As you pan down the poster, you’ll notice it continues with, “return to General Hospital beginning October 29.”
This poster is not only notable for being the promo used in 1993 when the supercouple returned to the show, but marks Jackson’s very first airdate. Jackson debuted on October 29, 1993 as Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura’s (Genie Francis) son (find out what the actor learned after growing up working with the pair), who traveled to Port Charles to alert his Aunt Ruby (ex-Norma Connolly) that there’s been trouble with Frank Smith (ex-Joe Cortese).
