In a shocking turn of General Hospital events, Brando Corbin fell victim to the latest Port Charles serial killer known as The Hook. It looked like Brando was getting better, but then he suddenly died, and it turned out the hook was laced with poison. This story spelled the end of Brando; now, Johnny Wactor is reaching out to his fans.
Johnny Wactor Bids GH Farewell
Wactor first debuted on GH in 2020 as the presumed-dead son of Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs), making him Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) cousin and giving him a firm tie to the canvas. Brando’s romance with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) was sweet and idyllic at first until their newborn son died just before Christmas last year. Now, Sasha has also lost her husband, and Wactor has exited the soap.
Two days after Brando’s on-screen death, Wactor posted a video on Instagram bidding the soap farewell and thanking the fans for all their support.
“I have been blown away by the reaction from the fans,” Wacto said in his video. “I had no idea you guys cared so much about my character and I am just so grateful for the outpour of questions and support. I’ve always said that the fans of General Hospital are the greatest fans in the world and I truly believe that and this is just further evidence of that. The show’s been going on for almost 60 years. 252 episodes a year and you guys tune in every week..Whether you were excited to see Brando Corbin killed off or outraged and have questions.”
Wactor also talked about his future and the possibility that he might return to GH one day.
“I’m so lucky to have been on this show. As an actor, we’re lucky any time that we get a job, to be on a show that has a fanbase that is this loyal and cares this much. I’m truly going to miss it,” Wactor continued. “It’s really a unique experience and we get to show up and bring these stories to life and bring these characters to life. It just makes our job that much sweeter. Thank you so much for letting me bring Brando Corbin to life. Thank you for caring and thank you for all the support and well wishes for my future endeavors, whether back in Port Charles at some point or another show.”
