After the news of Brian Wilson’s passing, General Hospital alum John Stamos took to social media to remember his late friend after recently reflecting on 40 years with The Beach Boys.
God Only Knows What I’d Be Without You
If you’re reading this, you probably remember Stamos as Blackie on GH, the breakout role running from 1982-1984. Blackie was part of the fictional band Blackie and the Riff Raff, but in real life, his portrayer would go on to play with The Beach Boys for the next four decades.

Along with some pictures of him and Wilson, Stamos penned a tribute to the late Beach Boy on Instagram, writing:
“Brian Wilson didn’t just soundtrack my life…he filled it with color, with wonder, with some of the most unforgettable, emotional, joyful moments I’ve ever known.It’s hard to put into words what it meant to stand beside him, laugh with him, play his music with him. Brian wasn’t just a musical genius, he was a gentle, soulful, funny, complex, beautiful man. He heard things no one else could hear. He felt things deeper than most of us ever will. And somehow, he turned all of that into music that wrapped itself around the world and made us all feel less alone,” he wrote. “Rest easy, Brian. Thank you for the music. Thank you for the moments.I’ll carry them with me -forever,” he signed off with a reference to his memorable song with the band, “Forever.”

Band member Mike Love recently celebrated Stamos’ 40th anniversary as an honorary Beach Boy.

“It’s hard to believe that it was 40 years ago that @johnstamos first joined us on stage as our guest drummer! Amazing!! We are excited to celebrate this milestone with John on THE SOUNDS OF SUMMER TOUR,” Love revealed on Instagram.
Stamos is currently on the road with The Beach Boys and will appear at select tour dates throughout the summer.
