It was an emotional day at the hospital as Alexis and Jason said a final goodbye to Sam on the October 31, 2024 episode of General Hospital.
Finding Out
After Lucas (Van Hansis), Portia (Brook Kerr), and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) tried and failed at reviving Sam (Kelly Monaco), they walked out to break the news to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn, who teased the ‘hard to watch’ scenes) and Jason (Steve Burton). Both shocked to learn Sam died, Alexis ran in to see her daughter while Jason needed answers from Elizabeth.
Alexis seemed to experience every stage of grief once she arrived in Sam’s hospital room and spotted her cold, still daughter. She remained in disbelief until she held Sam’s lifeless body, then reminisced about her birth, and finally asked why Sam was taken instead of her.
Just You And Me
Jason asked Alexis for permission to say goodbye to his former love, and tearfully walked into the hospital room. He admitted he couldn’t stand her when they first met, before he fell in love with her and always believed she would outlive him.
As if Jason’s goodbye wasn’t emotional enough, he flashbacks to several iconic moments from their relationship, dating back to 2003 all the way up until recent years. While their theme song “Just You And Me” played, Jason remembered their water gun fight, Sam’s determination not to let him see her during her skin care routine, their epic wedding at Noodle Buddha, and their latest adventure surviving the 2020 earthquake.
Jason left Sam’s room in tears, while Alexis accidentally let the news of Sam’s death slip in front of Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Rocco (Finn Francis Carr), who had just arrived at GH.
