General Hospital Alum Jack Wagner’s Top 5 Songs

Published by
Roger Froilan

Forty years ago, Jack Wagner joined General Hospital as Frisco Jones, who was then part of the band Blackie and the Riff Raff, headlined by John Stamos as Blackie Parrish. Things would change, and the band would eventually separate, with Frisco first becoming a cop and then a WSB agent, working his way to the top as Bureau Director. Although we haven’t seen Frisco in ages, Wagner has kept up singing over the years, releasing six albums in the decades since his debut.

An Eclectic Mix Of Songs

Jack Wagner premiered several songs on GH, most notably All I Need, which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985, coming in just after Madonna’s Like a Virgin, and beating out other classics such as Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Philip Bailey, Careless Whisper by Wham!, and several other surprising hits. The album, All I Need, was issued on cassette tape as well as two vinyl versions, and several songs from it were performed on the sudser, including Make Me Believe It and Sneak Attack

Wagner would go on to release five more albums thereafter, including Lighting Up the Night (1985), Don’t Give Up Your Day Job (1987), Alone in a Crowd (1993), On the Porch (2014), and Dancing In the Moonlight in 2005. While his first two albums are probably the best and most re-listenable, his overall body of work is worth checking out. He’s got a couple of cover songs which are quite enjoyable including Dancing in the Moonlight which had become a hit in 1972 when King Harvest performed it, as well as Krystal Blu Persuasion from his album Alone in a Crowd, a cover of Crystal Blue Persuasion (1968) by Tommy James & the Shondells. (Learn how GH shaped Wagner’s music career.)

Here are our picks for Jack Wagner’s top five songs, in descending order:
