Fans of Holly Sutton may want to keep an extra eye on General Hospital in the coming days. An near-impeccable source shares that the fan favorite character, played by Emma Samms, is going to be seen again on the ABC soap opera.
Emma Samms – ‘Good Golly, Miss Holly’
In recent years, shows have taken a more proactive stance against spoilers from getting out. While casting announcements are still made, daytime serials don’t often reveal just who an actor is going to be playing or exactly when they’ll be appearing. Understandably, they want audiences to tune in every day so they don’t miss anything.
But perhaps General Hospital has inadvertently announced that Samms is coming back soon as Holly. Last year, Samms wrapped up her stint after Holly and her pals faked her being burned and being sent off for a long recovery. In reality, Holly was unharmed, free to search for her captive son Ethan. In a Coastal Entertainment zoom fan gathering last December, Samms teased that future appearances weren’t off the table.

“It was the perfect ending in as much that it wasn’t really an ending,” Samms said at the time. “It has left the door open for much more for Holly and Robert [Scorpio, Tristan Rogers].”
What has the social soap opera community abuzz that Samms is coming back as Holly? On the Friday, March 10 credit roll, viewers saw “Emma Samms as Holly Sutton” on their screens. The actress was referenced in a recent episode, but we didn’t see her character. This is an indicator that Holly is set to make some upcoming appearances. Rogers also appeared in the credits in Friday’s episode so Holly and Robert screen-time is definitely a possibility.

Emma Samms — Credit Where Credits Are Due
The show’s closing teasers during the credit roll showed a scene in which Laura (Genie Francis) tells Felicia (Kristina Wagner) that things are about to “blow up!” Are the walls finally closing in on Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy)? Will Holly find Ethan (Nathan Parsons) and/or reunite with Robert? While Samms’s social account shows that she’s back living in London, it’s quite possible that the actress has either returned to the show’s Hollywood studios once again or perhaps she pre-taped scenes before exiting the show in 2022?
We do know that British-based Samms is keeping tabs on her Port Charles pals from across the pond. The actress shared a tweet from the account of GH executive producer Frank Valentini that referenced a delicate issue with which Victor was dealing. Samms wryly added a GIF of a self-satisfied Holly wearing sunglasses, a big hat, and an even a bigger smile. Hmm…
