How Fans Really Feel About Michael’s Fire Scenes On General Hospital

Fans had some heated remarks to make about these shocking scenes.

 Comments

After Michael was set ablaze in Sonny’s penthouse on General Hospital, fans have had plenty to say about the shocking turn of events.

Fan Favorite In Flames

Since Chad Duell announced his exit from GH and executive producer Frank Valentini assured fans that the door would be left open for Duell’s return, many have wondered just how Michael would be written out. After all, the character is currently in the middle of a divorce battle with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and just claimed Aurora and named Curtis (Donnell Turner) CEO.

The January 6, 2025 episode all but confirmed how Michael will leave after he was engulfed in flames at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) penthouse. It’s unknown who set the place on fire or how this will affect the kids, but one thing that’s certain is that Michael won’t be walking away from this accident unscathed.

What Fans Are Saying

Since the video preview teasing Michael caught in flames dropped, fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) in a fiery rage.

“So Frank promised a ‘great story’ for Michael’s exit. This is what he meant – Michael getting betrayal after betrayal, having his kids taken from him, and then getting burned alive when he did nothing wrong?” one fan posted, receiving a slew of reactions. “Nobody wants to see this when Michael literally did nothing wrong! Should’ve been Drew (Cameron Mathison) in that penthouse!” a fan replied, while another shared, “This is so disturbing to watch to such a beloved character like Michael.”

One viewer remembered a similar GH exit story. “Well we did see a similar thing with Robin… and then amazingly she came back to life,” they said, referring to when the GH lab blew up with Robin (Kimberly McCullough) inside, leading to the character being held captive by Faison (ex-Anders Hove) until McCullough’s return. Another fiery exit happened when Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) was presumed to have died in a fire, only to be kidnapped by Helena (ex-Constance Towers).
