Here’s Why General Hospital’s Kristina Needed Blaze to Join Miguel’s Tour

Blaze shouldn’t look back. At least not for now.

It’s difficult to imagine Blaze joining Miguel Morez’s tour just as her girlfriend is experiencing one of the worst times of her life. However, Kristina was right to basically push her out the door. Blaze doesn’t need to be around to witness Kristina’s next phase of her life.

The Dark Place

Kristina (Kate Mansi — who found support from friend Courtney Hope) will be all hurt and need no comfort right now. She feels hella guilty over what happened. Sure, she blames Ava (Maura West) for what happened. Ultimately, she is the one who went over to the hotel to have it out with Ms. Jerome. Their conversation instantly heated up, and the tragic crash through the window and subsequent fall changed lives forever. It’s hard not to feel a certain amount of guilt. She’s already questioned her going over to Ava’s in the first place. When someone feels guilt, they don’t want someone to make them feel better. And that’s what Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) would want to do. This is the kind of hurt that you want to experience in isolation.

Kristina’s Revenge Agenda

Blaze feels like a person who was sheltered growing up. Sure, the Deception executives brought her on after Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) reign because she had an edge to her. They couldn’t have been more wrong. Blaze is tepid compared to the life Kristina has led. With her mom’s chaotic love life, her dad’s mobster existence, and even more chaotic love life, things have always been turbulent for Kristina. And ever since she woke up in the hospital, all she’s been doing is asking her dad to take care of Ava permanently and vowing revenge against Ava. Blaze’s light will just be an annoyance to the darkness that has enveloped Kristina.

Karmic Anger

Obviously, Kristina is angry, and she can no longer stuff it down. And she won’t want somebody like Blaze trying to get her to see the light. She also doesn’t want her girlfriend to stop her from doing what she needs to do to get payback. And she certainly doesn’t want Blaze to witness her extremely dark and angry retaliatory urges. It’s better that Blaze leaves town and doesn’t have to be on the business end of Kristina’s anger. Kristina thinks too much of Blaze for that to happen.

Residual Resentments

Is Kristina really over what went down before this hotel room disaster of epic proportions? Ava leaked the incendiary audio featuring Natalia’s (Eva LaRue) homophobic rant. It not only affected her daughter’s career, it affected Kristina’s career, as well as her relationship with her sister and domestic partner. Kristina and Blaze hadn’t recovered from that debacle. And, honestly, they never seemed the same after that. Of course, it wasn’t long before this new drama crushed everybody’s soul. But Kristina and Blaze should rest their relationship. Let Blaze go and savor this amazing tour opportunity. And if there’s something still there when she gets back to Port Charles, they can resume things. That is if Kristina’s still free to resume their relationship.
