It looks like there’s about to be a new generation taking over Port Charles on General Hospital, and it’s going to be wonderfully women-led.
Like Father, Like Daughter
With Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) unpredictable heart issues currently slowing him down, he’s in need of a replacement as Port Charles’ number one mob boss. Jason (Steve Burton) declined the offer, needing to put Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) first as his only parent left.
Throughout the years, there’s been talk of one of Sonny’s (many) kids taking over the business. Michael (Chad Duell, who recently opened up about his thoughts on the fire scenes) was first in line, determined to follow in his father’s footsteps after waking up from his coma in 2009. Then Morgan (ex-Bryan Craig) became a good fit, having gotten involved with rival family, The Jeromes. But with Morgan deceased and Michael possibly on his way to a clinic in Germany, there’s one kid remaining who actually has what it takes.
Kristina (Kate Mansi) taking over Sonny’s organization has been a long time coming. Much to Alexis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) dismay, she has already worked for Sonny several times, like running a coffee cart and now Charley’s. When Kristina finds out her father is ill and needs someone to take over, she’ll immediately want to jump into action to help him, going from Mob Princess to Mobstress.
Committing Crimes… Or Solving Them?
With Kristina in charge, who should be her hitman? Or should we say, hitwoman? While very unlikely, considering her hatred for Sonny and consideration for the law, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) certainly has what it takes to jump into Jason’s role and become Kristina’s right-hand woman.

Better yet, to put the two even further at odds, maybe all this investigating Dex’s (ex-Evan Hofer) stabbing will lead to Joss taking up an interest in solving crime. She could either join the PCPD or, even more likely, the WSB. After all, Brennan (Charles Mesure) has kept his eye on her for a while now. And not creepily like Drew (Cameron Mathison) has with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).
What do you think Kristina’s and Joss’ future careers will look like? Let us know in the comments.
