Here’s Why Joss And Emma Could Be Headed For An Epic Rivalry On General Hospital

Emma and Joss have a history.

Emma Scorpio-Drake’s surprise return to General Hospital just as 2024 drew to a close caught viewers by surprise. Not just because Emma looked different, now played by Braedyn Bruner after Brooklyn Rae Silzer had played her on and off for 13 years, but because she seemed to have gotten a personality transplant during her time in the Bay Area. (To be fair, she wouldn’t be the first person that happened to.)

New Year, New Me

Gone was sweet, adorable, chip-off-exactly-the-way-her-mother-Robin-was-at-that-age-Emma, and in her place was snarky-snide-I’m-better-than-you-are-the-way-her-mother-came-off-to-some-viewers-while-pretending-to-be-sweet-and-adorable-Emma. She’d barely been in Port Charles for a few days before Emma locked horns with Joss (Eden McCoy). This leads us to wonder, are we seeing an epic new rivalry in the making?

Prospect Park

Emma seems to be footloose and fancy-free, romance-wise, and Joss just lost Dex (Evan Hoffer). The last time Joss lost a boyfriend, she moped over Oscar for months. But now that she’s used to it, we figure Joss will bounce back a lot quicker. There are so many prospects on the canvas. For both young ladies….

The Usual Suspects

Gio (Giovanni Mazza) seems like the most likely candidate. He plays the violin, you know. That’s sexy. And if what we think is about to happen is about to happen—Gio learning that his parents aren’t the people he grew up thinking they were—then he’s going to be all sad and puppy-dog eyes hurt.

That’s sexy. Seems like both Emma and Joss could be there to offer him a shoulder to cry on.

Side Hustle

And then there’s Cam (William Lipton). Joss cheated on him. But, in her mind—thanks to being raised by Carly (Laura Wright)—that means she had him first. And as her mother made clear with her own actions, once you’ve had a man, he’s yours forever.

Sure, Emma is the one who introduced Cam to his current girlfriend, and she’s a big fan. But if it looks like Joss is going after Cam again, Emma might just decide to go after Cam herself…to protect him from Joss. This is a girl fight that could go on for decades!
