It didn’t take long for General Hospital newcomer Adrian Anchondo to become a fan-favorite in Port Charles. Now, after only four months on the soap, Anchondo is sending thanks to GH for his character’s recent storyline.
Marco’s Moment
Anchondo debuted on GH as Marco in March after meeting Lucas (Van Hansis) in Miami. But it didn’t take long for Marco to make his way to Port Charles and reveal he was the son of Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and the now-deceased Natalia (Eva LaRue).
Things turned dramatic quickly for Marco after his mother was found dead, and he was certain Sonny (Maurice Benard) was behind it. Now, after being kidnapped, beaten, and found by Lucas, Marco’s portrayer is sending love to both the character and GH.

In an Instagram story featuring a clip of Lucas checking Marco’s injuries and sharing a kiss, Anchondo wrote, “Marco has been through a lot. So glad he gets to have some romance, too.” The actor went on to say, “Thank you @generalhospitalabc for being committed to sharing LGBTQ storylines.”
Couples Who Came Before Them
Marco and Lucas are GH’s current front burner LGBTQ characters, and they’re running thanks to the many who walked before them, starting with Lucas. Back when the character was played by Ben Hogestyn (son of the late Days of our Lives star Drake Hogestyn), Lucas’ emotional coming out in 2005 eventually led to Kristina (Kate Mansi) coming out as bisexual, Marco’s sister Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) coming out as gay, and transgender actress Cassandra James joining the cast as transgender Co-Chief of Staff Dr. Terry Randolph, just to name a few.
